The CD features 7 of my original compositions, many of which are dedications to important American activists and Jazz Musicians. Cyril for C.L.R James, Debs was written for Eugene Debs, Akuno for radical activist Kali Akuno (Cooperation Jackson), Basheer for GiGi Gryce, Woods for Dizzy Gillespie, and Cherry for Don Cherry. Alliance, the title track, is a 3/4 tune.
